THE SCULPTOR
Dario Ruffini was born in Lumezzaene (BS), through adolescence lived in a village in Friuli.
After graduating high school, follows his passion for music, and at age 18 he moved to Gubbio to study violin making. A few years later, interested in classical and Renaissance art, he moved to Florence, where he studied architecture, and then, in the Tuscan countryside, he began working as a self-taught sculptor, with the first works carved in wood.
Refine then the art at a laboratory in Serre di Rapolano in the province of Siena, where he began to use travertine, the local stone. In the early nineties he opened his own sculpture workshop in travertine and marble in Asciano (Siena), where he still has his principal place of business.
